4B. FIST ATTACK DEFENSE I

1. “360” outside defense against circular punch coming out to the side of the punch – prepared (FREE)

The exterior defense is the most popular defense in the Krav Maga system. It covers the most common attacks in real-life situations, such as the open hook attack, the volley punch, and a slap.

It’s a defense based on instinctive movements or patterns, so it doesn’t require much training.

STEPS

  1. Neutral Position.
  2. Open your arm at a 90-degree angle (same side as the attack).
  3. Place your arm between the attacker and your body.
  4. Block the attacker’s wrist with your wrist.
  5. Keep your forearm as far away from your body as possible.
  6. Keeping your arm blocked, begin a strike with your free arm while moving toward the attacking side.
  7. After several frontal strikes, finish the technique with a kick to the groin, then check your surroundings and assume a combat stance.
