In this lesson, we’re going to learn the different ways to get up from the ground.
In self-defense, it’s advisable not to go to the ground, but we can fall for various reasons (a push, loss of balance, etc.). On the ground, it’s more difficult to move, flee, or find an object to strike… so it’s best to get up as quickly as possible.
Whether our attacker is close or far away will give us clues on how to use the different ways to get up from the ground.
In this lesson, we’ll explain how to get up from the ground in place. This means standing up, standing in the same place where we were sitting.
You can use a piece of paper or a small object under your body as a guide so you can visualize whether you’ve managed to stay in the same place when you’re finished.
