In Block 7C of our previous course, level P3, we worked on defending against a bear hug when it occurs and our arms are free.
In this block, which we are now beginning, we will look at another possible related situation: a bear hug when our arms are trapped.
STEPS – Prevention
As we’ve discussed in previous lessons, to prevent an attack when the aggressor is far away, we should kick their most vulnerable areas.
This situation is the same as detecting a threat from a distance, so we prevent it in the same way.

STEPS – Avoid
When the attacker is close to us, we must prevent them from getting a grip.
In this situation, we will execute a 360-degree outside block and simultaneously throw a frontal strike with our other arm.
We will continue with combative movements, moving out of the attacker’s line of sight.
Finish with a kick to their groin, assume a fighting stance, and assess your surroundings.
