This is the most basic and efficient strike in the Krav Maga program. It is delivered with the heel of the hand, on the points of the nose or chin.
It requires no conditioning or preparation.
It is the most instinctive strike. We can observe, for example, when a baby falls to the ground, the defense is to place the palms of the hand on the ground.
STEPS
- Neutral position.
- The front palm strike can be performed with either the right or left hand, depending on the situation we find ourselves in.
- The arm is thrown forward, placing the hand with the palm straight forward and fingers stretched together and pointing upward. The arm remains straight.
- Turn your torso, tuck your shoulder in, and slightly rotate the leg on the same side that is hitting.
- Once you’ve hit, bring your arm back and step forward with the leg on the same side that hit. Then, assume a combat stance.
- Remember to keep your non-hitting hand in a guard position to protect your face.
- Perform several hits by switching arms, to practice from both sides.
